What to have ready
Whether you call or submit online, having this info ready will make dispatch faster:
- Your exact location — street address, intersection, mile marker, or nearby landmark
- Vehicle information — year, make, model, and color
- Destination — home, dealership, repair shop, or other drop-off
- Problem — won't start, flat tire, accident, locked out, out of gas, etc.
- Hazards — traffic, weather, if anyone is in the vehicle, if anyone is injured (call 911 first)
Safety while you wait
- Pull as far off the road as safely possible; turn on your hazard lights.
- Stay in your vehicle with seatbelts on if you're on a highway shoulder.
- If there are injuries, call 911 before calling a tow.
- Do not attempt to cross live traffic lanes on foot.
